Our heritage reproduction tiles offer a high standard of performance and durability. This collection blends historical authenticity with contemporary resilience.

Manufactured by Winckelmans, a renowned producer of premium ceramic floor tiles since the 1890s, these tiles meet and exceed industry standards.

Here's an overview of their key technical specifications:

  • Material composition
Manufactured using natural clay and materials sourced primarily from France and Europe to produce fully vitrified, unglazed tiles.
  • Thickness
The tiles in the range measure approximately 9 mm thick.
  • Edge profile
Key shapes in the range feature square edges that allow for minimal grout lines, creating an authentic look. The larger tiles (100 mm, 150 mm, and 200 mm squares, octagons, and hexagons) have a 1 mm chamfered edge.
  • Colour consistency
The tiles are a solid colour throughout their thickness, ensuring they maintain a lasting visual appeal even with gradual wear.
  • Water absorption
The tiles exhibit very low porosity, with water absorption rates between 0.1% and 0.5%, making them suitable for interior and exterior applications, including wet areas.
  • Slip resistance
The tiles have been tested following AS/NZS 3661.1:1993 standards, ensuring safe usage in various environments.
  • Frost resistance
There is no damage to the tiles after tests in freezing and thawing conditions, confirming their suitability for exterior use in varying climates.
  • Chemical resistance
The tiles show no reaction to acidic or alkaline solutions, with weight variation under 0.2%. Testing indicates their high resistance to staining and chemical damage.
  • Abrasion resistance
The tiles are rated at level 7, surpassing the required standard of level 6, ensuring durability even under heavy foot traffic.
  • Flexural strength
The tiles withstand between 380 and 450 kgf/cm², exceeding the required standard of 250 kgf/cm², which indicates their robustness under load.

These tile specifications underscore the suitability for a wide range of use in residential and commercial settings.

Tiles are tested to determine their resistance to various factors and are classified in line with NF standards (French Norms). All our tiles conform to the NFP 61-405 standards (class B1 of the European EN176 standards). They comply with classifications U4, P4, E3 and C2 except for the 20 x 20 mm, 50 x 50 mm and the relief design tiles that comply with P3. Our 9 mm thick tiles comply with P45 standards.

and no specimen in that sample shall be less than: 0.35

Surface roughness (Rtm) mean: 30.3 microns

According to the UK Slip Resistance Group, a Rtm roughness value of at least 10 microns is needed in wet conditions, and it has elsewhere been suggested that at least 14 microns is required for ceramic, terrazzo and stone flooring.

DIN 51130 RValue slipperiness classification

In HSE Ramp Tests, the individual tiles comply with R10 specifications (slip angle of 10 - 19°).

Tiles of 50 mm and smaller when installed, and Orange peel anti-slip tiles are rated R11 (slip angle of 19 - 27°).

Pendulum test value (PTV)

Natural finish rating:
PTV +36, Barefoot B
Rice grain anti-slip rating:
PTV +36, Barefoot C
Orange peel anti-slip rating:
PTV +36, Barefoot C

Anti-slip ratings may vary depending on tile size.
