Heritage quality glazed wall tiles

Glazed tiles were a popular way to bring colour to Victorian décor. Plain-coloured tiles and simple mouldings and fittings were designed to adorn the walls of porch entrances, surround fire hearths, or add style to kitchens and bathrooms in Victorian homes. Today, this style of tile remains just as compelling for those restoring or reimagining homes with heritage character.

In response, we’ve sourced a collection of hand-made glazed wall tiles from a specialist pottery that shares our passion for traditional craftsmanship. Using original machinery, historic glaze recipes, and traditional methods, including tube-line hand decoration, painting and screen printing, they faithfully reproduce the quality and charm of original tiles from over a century ago.

'Crazing' on the surface of a glazed tile
"Crazing" on the surface of a glazed tile is a natural process

The glazes are rich and translucent, with natural variation in tone and fine crazing that gives each tile its character. These subtle irregularities that can develop with time are not flaws but part of what makes them genuine and perfect for careful restorations and authentic new installations.

These are among some of the finest period-style glazed tiles available today.
